Pastor Paul Matthiesen
Pastor Paul has served 27 years at Emmanuel between the church and school, with over 30 years of pastoral ministry. The statement, “the greatest use of life is to spend it for something that will outlast it”, is a mission statement for his life. 2 Corinthians 5:14-15 is passage that motivates his ministry. “For the love of Christ controls us, because we have concluded this: that one has died for all, therefore all have died; and he died for all, that those who live might no longer live for themselves but for him who for their sake died and was raised.”
Paul and Jana have been married 37 years and enjoy entertaining, playing games with friends, and spending time with family, and cheering on the Green Bay Packers. The Matthiesen's have two children, Tylan and Aunna. Tylan is married to Kristen and have two children, Blakely and Brooks. While their biological family is limited, Paul and Jana's involvement with the international ministry has gifted them "children" from places all around the world.
