Pastor Dan Neighbors
Pastor Dan’s passion is discipleship. His heart’s desire is to challenge, encourage, and equip students and their families to passionately follow their Savior! He believes students can have a deep understanding of the Gospel and a consistently growing relationship with Jesus Christ right now in today’s culture. Through a love for and obedience to God’s Word, a passion for imitating Christ, and a commitment to community, we can see students and parents being renewed and transformed as they work together to be conformed to the image of Jesus Christ for the glory of God (Romans 12:1-2)!
Pastor Dan Neighbors joined the Emmanuel Pastoral Team in August of 2013 and serves as Associate Pastor in Student and Family Ministries. Pastor Dan is originally from Lima, OH, and a long-time Ohio State fan! He graduated from Northland International University in Dunbar, WI, where he finished a B.A. in Church Ministries and an M.A. in Biblical Studies. During his time at Northland, he was able to meet his wife, Laura, and develop the desire and burden to reach students for Jesus Christ. After school, Dan and Laura were married and trusted the Lord as they headed to Illinois where Dan served as a youth pastor for 4 years. God graciously and powerfully worked in their hearts and led them here to Emmanuel Baptist Church where they are delighting in the privilege to serve the Body of Christ. Dan and Laura love spending time with their son and daughter, Carter, Emelia and Ellie who are full of energy and have the ability to brighten up any room, encourage anyone to smile, and make any situation seem not so dull.
