It
was at the end of his freshman year of college
that God began softening Pastor Mark’s heart,
planting a seed of compassion for those who were
without Christ. He followed God’s call into
ministry and attended Baptist Bible College of
PA where he graduated in 1994. He spent his first
eight years of marriage and youth ministry at
Bethel Baptist Church in Fruitport, MI. He joined
the staff at Emmanuel in May 2003.
Pastor Mark is married to Gretchen
who he met at BBC. They are blessed with four
daughters: Brooke, Kaleigh, Taylor, and Paige.
Pastor Mark enjoys most mentoring
teens. He is also a Nascar fan. Actually, he enjoys
all sports, especially tennis. He plays and teaches
guitar. He’s gifted with computers. At present
he is enrolled in the graduate program at Moody
Bible Institute.
“I am very excited
about being a part of a church with both a rich
heritage and a strong vision for the future. I
live my life with a deep burden to see teenagers
pass from death to life as they come to understand
what it really means to know God, and passionately
pursue His ways. Above all, I am most grateful
for my Savior, Jesus Christ. I agree with what
Peter said to Jesus in John 6:68 ‘Lord,
to whom would we go? You alone have the words
that give eternal life.’ Apart from Christ,
I am nothing. If I can help you in your walk with
the Lord, please contact me by either calling
the church or sending me and email from our contact
page. ”
